12:12 Tune of the Day: Like Castanets – Bishop Allen
Posted By Amanda Lee on November 6, 2009
I’ve been trying to drink more water and less caffeine lately; coffee is a fickle, insecure mistress who, if you don’t call for a few hours, will give you more headaches than she’s worth. But as long as I’m churning out a handful of blog posts a day, knitting all manner of pretty warm things for my bandmates and my Etsy shop, and working evenings as an office hero and customer service superstar, I’ve got no choice but to seek her warm, acidic embrace.
So I’m celebrating my official caffeine addiction with the following verse:
I’m following the coffee trail,
I drink it black and by the pail,
The pesos turn to paper cups, my fingers tremble at the touch,
Like castanets.

love it! you know i do!
i actually may come away from this sickness with a lessened dependence on coffee; i haven’t had any in 3 days now, just tea; coffee just hasn’t appealed at all. probably a good thing. although now that i’m feeling better enough that i’m not totally miserable, there is that familiar back of the head pounding…. hrrrm might make a move on that elusive mistress of mine before the day is out…
